Commitment Charter

The GAOPÉ Commitment Charter

Made in the European Union: our commitment

Every brand listed on GAOPÉ has signed our Commitment Charter, through which it commits that all products offered are manufactured in one or more Member States of the European Union.

Definition

A product is considered manufactured in Europe when its last substantial transformation (cutting, sewing, assembly, substantial finishing) has been carried out in one or more Member States of the European Union. This definition is established based on the rules of origin of the European Union Customs Code (Regulation (EU) No 952/2013).

Raw materials may be of non-European origin. What determines the origin of manufacture is the place of production.

What we verify

Before any listing, each brand provides documentation proving the place of manufacture of its products. GAOPÉ reserves the right to request additional documents (workshop certificates) at any time and to immediately suspend any product or seller that does not meet these requirements.

What we do not accept

Isolated operations of design, labeling, packaging, or storage do not constitute a substantial transformation within the meaning of our Charter. They alone do not allow for claiming a European origin.

A contractual standard

The Commitment Charter is a contractual document signed by each partner brand concomitantly with the General Terms of Use. It applies to all listed products, without exception.
